Thanks to everyone who registered today and also those that stayed for our committee meeting. We will look to run with the following teams in 2018, based on our registrations today:

A development late this afternoon has thrown a small glimmer of hope out there that we may get an U16 LeagueTag team. We will confirm a decision on this team on Friday February 23rd. If your child is eligible and wishes to play in this age group, prompt registration is required. Based on our numbers, we believe there will be ample opportunity for U6s, U8s, U9s, U10s and U11s tackle players to play up and get two games of footy. If we happen to get a U16 LeagueTag side, the same will apply for U14 LeagueTag girls.

Now that teams (apart from U16 LeagueTag) are confirmed, the committee is calling for nominations for suitable people to either coach or manage teams. Coaches will be required to get the relevant coaching certificate and all other match officials will be required to complete LeagueSafe qualifications and Working with Children Checks. Tumbarumba-Batlow Minor League will reimburse any fees incurred by people in obtaining these qualifications, but they are a mandatory requirement. Nikki will follow this post with a form for anyone wishing to apply for coach/manager. These application forms are due back on or before 4pm on Friday, February 23rd. They can be either emailed to her or dropped in at Beauty Within. We will hold off calling for applications for U16 LeagueTag at this stage.

We are also looking to get a Ground Managers course in Tumbarumba. It’s a quick course that we will aim to get happening during a training, one Friday afternoon. Any parent is encouraged to lend a hand and fill this necessary role, but again, you can’t do so without the required qualifications. Please contact Nikki or myself if you are interested in this course.

Training will commence on Friday, March 2nd. Our next General Committee Meeting will be on Thursday March 1st at the Tumbarumba Hotel, commencing at 7pm. Following this meeting, financial members of the committee will remain to read through coaching and manager applications with a view to appointing all coaches and managers for the 2018 season.
